Originally DA was based strictly out of a small field in Denver, Colorado named Shut Down Xtreme Paintball. The team lasted around 4 years, and was full of talent but there was something wrong with the team, they couldn’t perform as a team. Many roster, managerial, and coaching changes were in act event after event and still the team was left winless. Much hard work and effort had seemed endless and the team was falling apart. Approaching the PSP MAO 2006 Damian Ryan from Aftershock proposed a throw together team to play in division 2 Xball of his friends and recommended players. A few original Denver Altitude members participated (Since the team had financial issues) and the throw together team named "93 Bulls" played quite well. Some of the members bonded and a new team was proposed for future events. Denver Altitude completely altered its roster between MAO, & World Cup 2006. By the 2007 season Denver Altitude was a whole new team. The team had new goals, a new structure, and a new outlook. Players seemed to bond, and the team really felt like a team, we all saw the potential. There are only 4 players that still remain from Denver; Myself (Josh Siegelman, originally from NY), David Weinraub, Adam Gomez, and Steve Pulawa. The rest of the players include Christian Breezley from South Carolina, Seth Bunting from Iowa, Zach Patient from Chicago, Kurt Westerhausen from Indiana, Michael Colabufo, Michael Whitley, and Jacob Masters from Tennessee, Chris Winchell from Georgia, and Jon Woodley from Long Island NY.
Although the team might seem quite diverse, it’s actually quite unique. We practice separately 1-2 times each week at each clusters home field. Twice before each event we schedule practices with teams (mostly Aftershock at Chicago Badlandz) where the whole team flies in and we have an intense Saturday-Sunday practice. Through these days we play many hours, and shoot as much paint as possible.
At the beginning at the 2007 season, since the team had lost its original owner, home field, and store many sponsors were not willing to retake up Denver Altitude. Proto agreed to issue the team a deal and the team accepted because we were a former Dye team and knew they had reliable products. Although the team did not have much money, we scavenged for paintballs in LA and much of the event was paid for out of our own pockets. We knew that if we wanted to have a team this season, we would have to win our way up there. We put every thing that we had each and every game on the field and earned our self a victory in our first event as a new team the 2007 PSP LA Open.
Since the LA open the team has continued to work and practice harder and harder before each event. Following the LA event we took a following 1st place win at the PSP 2007 MAO Open. The team has now won the first 2 events of the PSP season. Since the LA Open the team has partnered up with KEE Action Sports and RPS paintballs as well as HATER paintball.
We are working harder and harder to perform at a higher level for each event. Currently setting high goals for ourselves we are trying to finish this season out on top flawlessly and continue to moving up to Division 1 Xball next season.
Thanks to all of our supporters.
